ŠIFF 2016: the first edition of the festival
During the four days of the festival the audience of Šumadia district had the opportunity to see some of the best and most authentic work of young European filmmakers. A total of ten titles in the feature program, including three domestic films and eight short films from Serbia.
In addition to the films themselves, the festival also had rich accompanying program. After the screenings, the viewers talked with the film directors, and an intense and interesting discussion was developed between speakers, from film academies in Serbia, and predominantly young people interested in cinema, .
The festival is designed that there is no expert jury, but the evaluation of films is left to the viewers themselves, in order to get an insight into the taste, sensibility and interests of the audience of the Šumadija district.
The audience at the premiere edition of the festival awarded Montenegrin bitter, black-humorous comedy "The Needle below the threshold", and film director Ivan Marinovic emphasized in his speech that this award was especially prized as proof of the excellent reception of the film in the Central Serbia.
